Who is iAdventureGame?

Saturday, 18 July 2009

As you play the games and search on the site for hints, you may ask yourself exactly who makes up iAdventureGame? Well, the answer is certainly simple. It's me.

That is, I am typically responsible for the following things: Original Game design, storyboard, graphics, programming, testing, marketing, and support. I do it all. The words, "Small Business" doesn't even do it justice.

I don't think this is a disadvantage to my customers. Instead, when you contact iAdventureGame you have a direct line to the creator of the game. Whether it is an aspect of the game you don't like, such as the graphics, plot or interface, or a bug you have uncovered, any feedback generously given is sure to make it to the guy doing the actual work. And it will make an impact.

But just because it is only me does not mean that I cut corners. Each adventure is fully storyboarded and given a chance to evolve before the coding starts. I use modeling software to create the program flow (UML lessons learned along the way). I use and abuse local volunteers to test the adventure before shipping. I employ a bug tracking system to make sure everything found is fixed, and I have developed my own regression testing for any changes that I do make. But even that is not perfect, as anyone who has used software realizes. But I do try to be quick to fix it when there is a problem.

So now you know who makes up iAdventureGame, and hopefully I have impressed upon you that you have a direct line to the person responsible for all aspects of any iAdventureGame title you are playing. And I sincerely want to say thank you for being a customer. I can say without a doubt that my adventures have been played by some of the best brave adventurers in the world, and their emails prove it.

Have a Grand Adventure,

Greg Chaffins
